This is my walkthrough for the Mighty Hoax level 4-14 for the iPhone game Angry Birds.
You can get all three stars in this level by only using four angry birds.
- Aim the first angry bird at the blocks sitting directly on the ground. It will smash through three blocks causing the second set of rocks to fall over and getting three small pigs.
- Aim the second angry bird at the floor of the top left. You want to get one pig on the top, but also cause the far left stone structure to fall over too.
- Aim the third angry bird the vertical wooden structure on the bottom. You should be able to take out the three small pigs down there.
- Aim the fourth angry bird at a pretty high angle to get a good spread and take out all remaining pigs on the top.

Yeah sorry, this strategy doesn’t work for me. Maybe because I have the HTC one x and the physics are more realistic for that version of the game? I’ve been doing exactly what the walk through says but the blocks just won’t fall the way they did for you.
I can’t get 3 blocks to break with the first bird on 4-14. Only 2 will break and the bird gets stuck under the plate. It’s like there’s not enough umph behind the launch. Any ideas?
I ended up using all six birds; I think it’s different if you’re playing on a laptop. But I got a score of 74,450
Step1 Set the bird feather that points directly out of the bottom of the seat exactly at the top edge of the tree branch. Immediately tap!!! Adjust as needed. You need to get both collums down and the 4 piggies.
Step 2 set the bird just in front of the 1st tree trunk, you should just see the whole tree trunk, tap just below the clouds. You should get left and right ice collumns down and left and right piggies.
Step 3 as above.
Step 4 Adjust depending on how step 2 went.
Score 95,500
Trying to use strategy in this moronic game is almost completely futile, since at least %90 percent of it luck.
This was a really tricky one, and it took me about 40 tries but your strategy worked better than expected. The first bird managed to break through the four pieces of wood and toppled both stone columns on the left. That made it easy to do the rest of the walkthrough and gain 86,420 points! Thanks Tim, you rock!

I did and got all pigs, but I don’t get the 3 stars. My score was 84,160.
I keep trying but cannot get the correct angle to get both pylons to fall from the very first bird….grrr!!

whatever i do the three little buggers on the right just won’t die!!! i’m going insane!! please help… are there other strategies? please? before i smash my brother’s PSP…

Izzis some kinda sick joke? Do you put all the short “you’re the greatest” comments in here yourself?? With practice I got pretty good at the first shot and even take out four blocks sometimes, and knock down both left columns, and can send the whole second bird above. The third one? Where you thread the needle under the floor? I can thread a needle blindfolded in fewer tries! And then taking out the last birds from above is completely impossible. Still trying . . . .
After many many many tries I eventually got the wee buggers

Rephrase: the 2nd pylon will fall forward and knock down the first one.
Sorry for any confusion.
I found that if you can get the first bird to, not only break the first leg of the second pylon, but then come to rest about half way under the pylon, the second pylon will fall forward as well, opening up for using only 3 birds instead of 4 and getting you 3 stars. If that sort of thing matters to you…

this strategy works but not enough to get me 3 stars. I wind up with around 80-81 thousand points which only gets me 2 stars.
I do great until I get to the 2nd blue bird and I can’t get the rest of the pigs with him……grrrrrrr
