This is my walkthrough for the Poached Eggs level 3-1 for the iPhone game Angry Birds.
High Score: 65,830
Difficulty: hard
You can get all three stars in this level by only using one angry bird.
- Use the first angry bird to hit the very top of the wooden piece, so that it will bounce up and get the TNT. If you go straight for the TNT, you’ll never get them all with one bird.
Alternate Strategy
Thanks to Clay below in the comments for providing this alternate. It is much easier to complete the level, but I still didn’t beat my high score using the other method.
High Score: 62,610
Difficulty: easy
- Aim the first angry bird at a high angle so that it comes down on top of the TNT block. The bird needs to then bounce into the middle and bounce around a little bit to get all the pigs in one shot.

Yeah. The trick is to get the bird falling in between the pigs. When you hit the TNT slightly from the wrong angle it will be anywhere else but there, and then it won’t work.
Dropping the bird on top of the TNT worked for me. 64310 *** Tough one!
On the pc version I have tried both methods numerous times and the rocks jsut do not roll long enough to get all the pigs.

First of all, I have Angry Birds on my iPhone, Kindle Fire and my computer. While this is level 3 1 for the other two, it is NOT level 3 1 on the iPhone. 3 1 on my iPhone has two “glass pyramids” each containing a large pig and there is a very small pig between them.
Second, what’s with this website and the ad that follows you around and won’t go away?
One web page and two fails.
I tried all those methods, and couldn’t get over 58000 points after trying the level several hundret times. The rocks simply don’t keep rolling for long enough on my sgs II
One shot …….. first method……67780
After much effort, I got three stars — with a score of 63,200 — using two birds. The first I shot into the wall of bricks and wood under the TNT you reference above, collecting points from the ensuing destruction that caused, and the second I send into a high arc which terminated on the said TNT.
Granted, this took the discretionary time of FOUR DAYS doing the same thing OVER and OVER — doesn’t that fit within some definition of “crazy”??? — and is certainly not advisable, but it is possible to collect three stars on this level using two birds.

both methods. got a max top score of 61150 with my method similar to method 1 though
