This is my walkthrough for the Poached Eggs level 2-12 for the iPhone game Angry Birds.
You can get all three stars in this level by only using three angry birds.
- Aim the first blue bird just over the first pile of rocks. Take out as much of the glass as possible.
- Aim the second blue bird at about the same spot as the first one. This bird needs to clear out the rest of the glass (or as much glass to expose the wooden planks as possible.
- The third angry bird is pretty tricky and is all about the angle. He needs to smash through the wood and get the pig on the right. Then the rock structure on the right must collapse toward the left in order to get the remaining pig.

Your image must be from an older version. That long brick under the short brick on both sides is no longer there. It’s now just two long bricks (vertical) with the square brick on top.
This is what I found to work, and got it done in three birds:
1. Pull back and angle the first blue bird right at the fourth leaf of the taller plant behind them (almost between the first and second yellow birds). Release.
2. Multiply the blue bird as it is just passing over the small brick.
3. Repeat for the second blue bird.
4. Pull back and position the first yellow bird to about where the first blue bird was. Release. As the bird is coming down, tap it so it will increase its speed. This one requires a bit of careful aim and timing. If aimed and timed just right, the yellow bird will collapse the center of the structure, taking out both pigs.
The above trick worked for me , with a score of 64670. So satisfying to finally smash both pigs with the yellow bird.
I’d tried it a million times to do it the other way, as other video tutorials all hit the pig on the right and collapse the structure. For me, it was easier to collapse the structure in the center.

I have tried this no less than eleventy one bajillion times and still cannot get three stars. The frustrating thing is that I have tried so hard to get three stars for the levels without using walk throughs. I guess I will keep trying. Thank you.
I feel you. I’ve gotten into Cut the Rope, it’s challenging without making me want to smash my phone.

I was SOOO frustrated! Tried every online tip, didn’t have much luck with this one either (sorry). BUT I HAVE A GOOD TIP!! I asked a friend and he sent a screen shot of the arc. He used the blue birds to break the glass as expected. For the yellow bird: pull back so it lines up with the stem of the plant in the background. Then tap/click when you’re over that short, vertical bit of wood that sticks up. After that tip I got it on the first try!! YAY!
Which stem are you talking about? Is it possible to post the screenshots? I have tried and tried, and am getting very frustrated with it.
If it makes you feel any better, I’m eternally frustrated with AB. I have the screen shot but am not sure where to post it? They’ve changed the background, unfortunately. I played around and it looks like a similar angle if you line up the yellow bird’s tail with the top of the brown stem on the leaf to the left of the catapult (closest). The other steps are the same, click/tap when you’re over that short, vertical bit of wood that sticks up.
I think that’s why they call it “Angry Birds”. The birds aren’t angry; the player is, for not being able to knock down the $%#@*&! structures and defeating those #@&%*$!!! pigs!!!
SO true! I’m on Mighty Hoax now, and I wish they would give me an easy level once in a while! Throw me a bone!!

thanks soo much this helped me alot i was getting so frustrated i think i was about to smash my ipod but then you helped me and i finnaly did it but now im stuck on the one after that thanks soo much but can u do a walkthrough on level 13 it is very hard
I ended up getting it with pretty much the same technique even with the new level design. The yellow bird has to hit at just the right angle and as far to the left as you can get while still hitting the same piece of wood. That plus a lot of luck. But I did get 3 stars and 64670 points finally.
I see the same thing. and I get the same result. Any ideas?

It looks like they have changed this level! There is one less stone on top of each tower and one of the middle supports is now wooden instead of stone. I have tried the same basic technique many times, but the stone tower on the right side is simply not heavy enough to fall over most of the time, and when it does then there’s not enough weight to kill the left pig. Very frustrating!
Thanks! 65,330 after 4 days. Slightly different approach with the second bird, lobbed him and used him to clear the glass and soften the wood.
HAHA……….as soon as I posted my post I tried again and FINALLY got it!! Dang, I need a drink. lol
I have tried about 50+ times, and I still can’t get it. I get all the glass cleared, but then I can’t get the angle of the yellow bird right. When I do, he just bounces off the wood instead of busting through – no matter when I tap him. I am so frustrated – I have 3 starts on all other levels of Poached Eggs, but I CANNOT get this one. SO FRUSTRATING!!!!

I’d been working on it for ages and getting nowhere because of a false assumption. I think that the yellow birds weren’t as effective unless you make them go as fast and hard as possible, but I thought that the only way to do this was to tap for turbo as soon as possible after launch so the bird would have the maximum distance to gain speed and force. It would never have occurred to me to wait until the yellow bird was almost at the wooden target to tap it if I hadn’t seen your diagram. Thanks! I bet that jarring loose my mistaken idea about this will help with other levels too!
I tried a modified approach. 1st bird, like Tim, low over the wall and cleared away the glass. 2nd, I tried nailing the wood sticking up on the left with a high arc on a blue bird, not splitting it. 3rd, a yellow bird directly through the center of the wood. 62010. This was my first try after reading this post. I was so aggravated by working for 2 hours trying to do the same thing Tim and Mike were trying to do, I looked it up online, first time I tried. The two ideas here just focused me more. Credit goes to Tim and Mike.
I kept trying it your way and it never worked, I either hit the stone block with the first yellow bird or knocked it into the path with the second blue bird. Finally I tried a modified method and got three stars using 4 birds. Same approach with the first blue bird, but used a high arc on the second blue bird and landed it where you state for the yellow. That caused the top layer of stones on the left to fall off to the left. Used the first yellow bird to drive through the center of the wood and for the right pig. Used the second yellow bird to drive into the wooden board on the left column and brought down the remaining structure. Got ~61000, guess bringing down the entire structure got enough points to compensate for using the 4th bird.
